About The Convention Before Christmas

The Convention Before Christmas is Dublin's biggest family Christmas event, held annually at The National Show Centre. Our mission is to create magical holiday memories for families while supporting a wonderful cause.

Our Story

What started as a small costuming group amongst friends has grown into one of Dublin's most anticipated holiday events. Each year, we bring together the best of traditional Christmas celebrations with modern family entertainment, along with fandom, crafts, comics, live shows, and festive markets, creating an experience that appeals to all ages.

Supporting LauraLynn

A core part of our mission is supporting LauraLynn Children's Hospice, Ireland's only children's hospice. Through our event, we've raised over €200,000 for this vital charity, helping them provide specialized care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
